Fall is in the Air

Fall is in the air! What better way to spend a crisp fall day than to be at the pumpkin patch and corn maze! Apple Cider by Imaginisce is probably my favorite fall line in a long time. I love the warm colors and the embossed details of the papers. Embellishing is always a highlight of any layout for me. Imaginisce made this layout just "fall" together for me with the 3-dimensional embellishments, journaling boxes and, believe it or not, the rubons.

Are you afraid of rub-ons? That is understandable with the way some of the older styles did not transfer properly. I have always be a huge fan of rub-ons and still buy them like crazy. If you have never tried rub-ons or have not used one in a while, you MUST play with Imaginisce's rub-ons!!!!!!!! They transferred completely and with very little effort.

Don't you just love when products from other companies work perfectly together? Queen & Co's Daisy Felt Flowers topped with buttons made the perfect accents. My tiny alphabet stickers came from Echo Park's A Walk In The Park line. Ok, tiny alphie stickers are my new obsession to use for journaling! (I never care for my own handwriting.) Hurry in to see Imaginisce's Apple Cider fall collection -- we have already had a second shipment arrive!!!

Fall layouts from Gina A.

Hi everyone! Missed Design Team two months in a row because of vacation, so I was thrilled to use these new papers to create this two page spread. I love using fall colors and I think these patterned papers are adorable for either a "cute" layout or even a more "elegant" look. My layouts are a good example of using just a bit of patterened paper and adding to cardstock (I used Bazzill dot) to stretch your supplies. For this simple layout about my Thanksgiving holiday decorations I didn't even mat the photos and I love the clean and simple result. A little journaling with my signo pen (One of my favorite supplies!) and a simple rub-on directly on a photo with white-space (see the "Thanks(give)ing" on the rose)and I was finished. I love the results and hope you do, too!

New class...Everything's Rosey

Coming up on Saturday Sept. 11th I'll be teaching a new card class using stamps from Amuse's summer release, Everything's Rosey with an oldie but goodie thrown in there also. We will be making 5 cards using these fabulous stamps (I think this has been my favorite Amuse release ever!). I do not have a pic at the moment for the 5th card so you will just have to be surprised. Make sure to bring your sharp scissors because we will be doing a little cutting. I hope you can join me!

P.S. There are still some spots available in the Hydrangea class for 9/4.

Feeling FALLISH?

Hello Artistas! Lisa Hetrick here...
Today's cooler temperatures are sure making me feel FALLISH! If you haven't been in the store and checked out the Design Team wall, then make the trip. The NEW Fall Imaginisce line APPLE CIDER. I just loved this design style.

I whipped up a quick little mini album to house this years Pumpkin Patch pics. This paper line is perfect for all the FALL festivities. Also, you have to check out the cutie pie clear stamps that go along with the line. I stamped the basket of apples and pumpkin, colored them with copics, cut out and TA DA... instant embellishment. Super fun. Super cute.

Also, check out the Cottage Christmas Line by Imaginisce. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. this super cute Christmas Gnome. I think you're going to see him in something I create soon! Tee hee.

The Poppies Are Coming!

I've been promising a poppy card class using the gorgeous Hero Arts clear set Delicate Blossoms for a little while now, and the samples are finally done. This class is on Saturday 8/28 from 12 - 2:30pm. You will need sharp scissors and hands that are ready for coloring with Copics.

Here is the list of Copics we will be using should you choose to bring your own markers. Bringing your own markers will help you in making the cards and not having to wait as markers are being shared. Please make sure your markers have your name or some other means of identifying them as yours so that they do not get mixed up with the store's stock.

YR18, BV29 ( I use this instead of black but if you have black that is fine), R14, YG23, FV2, BV000, YG17, R29, YG03, BV29, B05

This class is already filling up quickly so call soon to reserve your spot. Should you need a kit instead, this class can be kitted for you but you will have to do your own coloring.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

A little Apple Cider from Jill

Hi Everyone,

Jill was busy making great new Design Team samples.  Give her a piece of paper and you will get a box or maybe a candle wrapper or a cool card.

What A Hoot!

Here is my first Design Team card for the month. As Tracy mentioned in a previous post, we were waiting for something new to come in to design with and the Imaginisce line does not disappoint. I must admit that while I love Fall colors and earth tones, creating with them does not come naturally to me and I always feel like I am out of my comfort zone. Going through my stamps, I realized that I do not have a ton of Fall themed images. This adorable Maya Road owl worked perfectly though. I mixed some patterns together and found a great layout sketch on the web and the card came together quickly. I like this layout so much that you may see it in a future class. Along with the owl and the Apple Cider papers I used the Tim Holtz Ornamental die (a must have!) to cut the Bo Bunny dotted paper, Hero Arts bling for the eyes, and ribbon of course. The owl and sentiment were done in Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Stay tuned to the blog and don't forget to see the samples in person when you are in the store!

About the Flower Soft class...

Hello everyone! The Flower Soft class is filling up quickly so if you want to take it, call soon to reserve your spot. The class fee includes the precious gate stamp set and EZ Mount and instructions on how to mount and cut out your stamps, plus we will make 3 cards.

Several people have asked me to share ahead of time the Copic colors I use in my classes so that they can bring their own markers with them. I think this is a fantastic idea! I will post here on the blog the markers that I am using for each class. I have had several people bring their whole Copic collection lately, and it really sped up their process for creating the cards. Please remember to have your Copics marked in some way with your initials or your name or something that identifies them as yours so that they do not get mixed up with ours or anyone else's.

Here are the colors we will be using in the Flower Soft class this weekend:

E74, YG06, YG05, YG67, B02, B00, W1, Colorless Blender

YG23, E35, C3, BG10, N0, E33, YG17, E29, YG03, R89

I hope this helps everyone, and I look forward to seeing you in class this weekend!

August Demo Day

Here is a pretty little card I've made for the August Demo Day in one of my favorite color combos, pink and brown. As far as I'm concerned, you can never go wrong with these colors together. Demo Day is Saturday August 21st from 11 am-4 pm. Hope you can make it!
