The 5th Fall Cards class sample

Here is the 5th card for the Fall Cards class I am teaching on Saturday 10/9. Notice the gorgeous background? You will be making it in class! This technique may be an old trick to some or completely new for others, but either way you will make a one-of-a-kind background as no two look alike.

I neglected to mention before that one of the Fall cards has the new Labels 17 Spellbinders used on it. It is the card with the pumpkins. Check out the gorgeous shape! And the turkey card uses the new Spellbinders Eyelet Circles. Both items are a must-have for any Spellbinders addict!

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Fall Cards class samples

Here are most of the cards we will be making in the Fall Cards class on Saturday 10/9. There is one more card coming (maybe even 2) but I wanted to show you what we will be making so far. We will be doing a fair amount of CUTTING in this class, so bring sharp scissors. As always, I will have a variety of sentiments on hand in case you want something different from what I have put on my cards.

For those that like to bring their own Copics, you will need to bring the following colors:
E33, YG23, YR04, YR18, YR68

Looking forward to seeing you then if not sooner!

Halloween card class seats available

Come join me this Saturday 9/25/10 as we make 5 Halloween cards plus a treat box! This class features stamps from Amuse's most recent holiday release. We will be playing with Copics, heat embossing, and doing some cutting too. Kits are available if you are unable to come to the class in person. See you Saturday!

Cindy

Off to Florida we go!

Tracy and Lisa (real 3D Lisa) are getting ready to hit the road and travel to a retailer scrabooking event in Florida. Tim Holtz classes, Creative Imaginations classes, Hero Arts classes and more. Since we will be out of the store , we needed to leave someone in charge of things while we are gone.   We had to have a long meeting to go over the details.

Photobucket

We decided to leave Flat Lisa in charge.  She has been known to be a bit of a trouble maker but everyone looks up to her (mostly because she is on a shelf).

Hopefully things will go smoothly while we are gone....

Little inspiration from Laura

Hi Everyone,

Laura keeps bringing in some of the most wonderful cards so I thought I would share.

This card is so striking in person.  Unfortunately, we can't get the exact Spellbinder she used but I am on the look out for another shape to try this on.
Photobucket

I think she was inspired by our Brest Cancer Awareness Display.  I just love the little details in this card.

A Flock of new Ducks has landed at the store.  All proceeds go to the Susan G Komen fund.

Boo to you!

Here is a quickie card that I just made using our DT line for September, Happy Halloween. No bling, no ribbon...what's wrong with me?? I used a Hero Arts stamp, Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo border punch (love it!!), a Sizzix ghost, and Spellbinders pinking circles. Don't forget to check out all the DT creations when you come in for Demo Day tomorrow. See you then!

Upcoming Class

Hi creative peeps! Lisa Hetrick here. Hope you can join me for this upcoming class. Space is limited to 6! So sign up today.

Trick or Treat

Echo Park's happy Halloween colors and fun prints make creating a breeze! On my first page I cut a mat to frame the page then made cuts into the corners to roll the edges. The contrasting two-sided papers gave just the look I was hoping for! Once again I am in LOVE with Echo Park's alphabet sticker sheet. The small letters make journaling fun and simple and, of course, the large letters made the perfect title! Embellishing just fell into place with the elements sticker sheet and I created a hidden journaling pocket from the cut apart sheet. Can you saw adorable, coiled brads from Karen Foster? You will find them on my journaling card and accenting a photo. Lastly, I did something new for me . . . I used Glossy accents on the bat and the windows of the house!

Demo Day in black and white

I am one of those people that thinks black and white is an underappreciated and very elegant color combo. With that being said, for September Demo Day we will be making a black and white card at my table using Hero Arts fabulous hydrangea stamp, a gorgeous new Spellbinders frame, Dew Drops, ribbon, and quite possibly Enamel Accents in the flower centers. I will have several sentiments on hand for you to choose from. Remember to bring your adhesive.

I look forward to seeing you on September 18th.

I love this... finally my bling won't fall off my projects!

And... there will be some Hero Arts stamps, and of course...Tim Holtz inks and dies.

Halloween Happiness...

... Hi!
Gina A. here and I have to admit, I love these Echo Park Halloween papers but I DON'T love Halloween pics! OK, that's a lie, I like spooky pics - I just don't have any recent Halloween pics that inspire me (daughter's in college and Scott & I haven't been to any recent Halloween parties) BUT I did find inspiration in the part of the paper with the green-striped witch legs... which lead me to creating these layouts from my trip to NYC to see WICKED. I embellished the Echo Park papers with Halloween frames from Little Yellow Bicycle and used our new cute spiral brads to emphasize my journaling blocks ...

...By the Way, Are YOU journaling on YOUR layouts?!?? Remember, a picture is NOT worth a 1,000 words. Be sure to write on your layouts while the memories are fresh. (trust me, after menopause you'll be amazed what you'll forget and you'll be glad you took the time to journal!!! :) If you need help getting started with your journaling or taking your journaling to the next level, join me for
WRITE ON! our 101-journaling class or
WRITE MORE! (AKA "Me By The Numbers") for more advanced journaling techniques.

Hope to see all of you in the store soon! Til then, happy scappin'! Gina

The 5th card and Dance Macabre

Here is the pic of the 5th card we will be doing in the Everything's Rosey class on Saturday 9/11. Does that stamp look familiar? It is the same wonderful image I used for my most recent Demo Day card. I love how you can get a lot of looks from one stamp, and I think black and white with a touch of color is always elegant.

My other pic, so very different from the first, is my 2nd design team card of the month. I have lots of yummy Echo Park layers on there, plus a terrific spiderweb punched border and these FABULOUS new brads we now have in stock that look like coils. Brads used to be one of my most beloved embellishments but I had stopped using them because of all the self-stick stuff out there nowadays. These brads are worth the time to set! The coil is just too cool. This card also uses a great Tim Holtz skeleton stamp that to me looks like he is dancing.
So tell me the truth...are my pictures getting worse or is it just me?? I am trying my macro setting and to me all my pics now look tilted. I am not the best photographer to begin with and this tilting issue doesn't make me look any better!

Halloween class and Design Team

Just a quick reminder that I am rerunning the Amuse Halloween class that I taught in July. The class will be on Saturday 9/25. We will be making 5 cards plus a treat holder. I had to redo one of the cards [the spider] because we were all out of the background paper so I used Echo Park's Happy Halloween which happens to be our DT paper line for this month. Once again, if you are interested in taking this class but are unable to come, I can have a kit available for you.
The following Copic colors will be used in the Halloween class [in case you want to bring your own Copics]: W1, Y15, V06, V17, E33, E37, BV29, C3, N0
I hope you can join me!

It's a SPOOKTACULAR day!

Hi,
Lisa Hetrick here. Just wrapped up creating this little bit of Halloween Happiness using the New Echo Park Happy Halloween line. LOVE IT!

Now, I scrapbook and create Halloween themed cards just like YOU! But, what I LOVE to create is Halloween decor to make the house and office look CREEPY and fun.

So, I took this blank pennant chipboard banner set from Maya Road (Tracy SELLS THESE), covered it, spooked it up and made a cool banner to hang up for HALLOWEEN.

Enjoy!

New Month! New Design Team

Things are looking a little SPOOOOOOOKKKKKY at PhotoScraps. Stay tuned for this month's design team projects using the new Echo Park Happy Halloween line.

SPOOKY LOVE, I tell you. I'm brewing up something SPOOKTACULAR with it in the studio today!

Lisa :)

September already?

How can it be September already? Time just seems to fly quicker and quicker. But with a new month comes a new line for the Design Team to play with. This month we are focusing on Echo Park's Happy Halloween line. First off, let me just remind everyone that I LOVE Halloween. It is my favorite of all the holidays to create for. I love monsters, bats, skeletons, jack-o-lanterns, candy, and all the other things that Halloween is associated with when it comes to creating. I love the colors - purples and oranges, greens and black. And the patterns for Echo Park's line are just terrific! There are bats, skulls, words...I could go on and on. Make sure you come into the store and see the full line plus see what we have made with it.

Here is my first card for the month. Truly I should be doing my homework, but I could not resist making a card this morning once the kids left for school. And have I ever mentioned that I am a bat fanatic? I love bats with their leathery wings and faces that only a mother could love. I would have a bat for a pet if I could. So of course my first card features a bat. I used one of the Echo Park papers, an awesome bat punch from EK Success, a clear stamp from Hero Arts, and a little bit of bling. I had a layout in mind when I went to make this card as I was inspired by a card in the holiday Hero Arts catalog, so the card took 10 minutes at the most to make. Love those!
