Copic markers (if you own them, please bring them for your own usage):

More Fancy Pants!
Wow, Fancy Pants put more amazing lines out for April so we had to use them again as our Design Team focus. These lines make me so happy! I know I say that every month and I guess it only goes to show that I am a paper fanatic. We are using their 2 new beachy lines called Wave Searcher and Summer Soul.
Summer Soul is so bright, playful, and happy and just brings out the girly side of me. Wave Searcher is perfect for the tomboy in me with its more masculine colors and I love the tikis. I made 2 cards today both using Summer Soul.
For my first card I used 2 different patterns of paper, a Paper Smooches sentiment (this company has some of the cutest fonts ever!), an Impression Obsession butterfly, a scalloped square Nestabilitie die, ribbon and bling. I adore this card layout and may use it at a future class or even a Demo Day because it can be used for so many different occasions.

My second card was a blast to make with lots of tearing, some cutting, and some Stickling. I cut the surfboards from one sheet of patterned paper then edged them with a Copic marker so that they would stand out from one another. I stamped Kraft paper with a speckle stamp from Impression Obsession then tore the edges so that it would resemble sand. I then tore 2 different shades of blue paper to resemble water and layered everything on a blue panel for the sky. The sentiment is also from Impression Obsession and the sun is a die from MFT. Once my card was all glued together, I added Stickles to the waves to make them shimmer. Who's ready for summer?
On another topic, my samples for my upcoming Kaiser Butterfly card class are almost complete and they are looking good - call the store soon to reserve your spot in class. And I will not be here for April's Demo Day because I will be hanging with Mickey Mouse and my family in Orlando.
Make sure you stop by the Design Team section of the store to see our creations in person and pick up some Fancy Pants goodies!

Snowman!!
Though the last few winters didn't provide much snow, we managed to make one measley, sad little snowman this year. I paper-pieced the snowman, which just means I hand-cut the pieces for the snowman out of cardstock, then inked the edges to make him look "dirty" like the snow on the ground! It was easy and fun. A snowflake punch adds great color and a flake border down the right adds interest and texture. Happy paper fun!! Lisa H.
Discovery 2011
Yes, I love me some My Mind's Eye, don't I? I just had to use it again for these pictures of my daughter. I just couldn't resist! Using a corner rounder, like I did on the floral paper, is a quick way to add a bit of interest to all the right angles on a page. I tucked an extra photo behind the plaid border paper by cutting a slit behind the paper with a craft knife--a great way to sneak in just one more photo! Keep scrappin'!!

Hello There, Handsome!
Lucky you are in my Life!
This layout using the new My Mind's Eye product line came together so easily. I am loving the color palette for these papers and love how the woodgrain paper made such a fun backdrop for both pages. Most of my pages lately contain baker's twine and this page is no exception!! It adds so much, for very little cost and effort. Tucking a hidden journal card behind a photo is also something I do quite often-so easy: just use a craft knift to cut a slit and slide card behind photo for privacy! Lisa H.
My Family
The new lines from Echo Park are about the cutest things to arrive at Photo Scraps!! Love, love, love the patterned papers and the matching chipboard stickers. The layout almost seems to make itself with such inspiring products to work with! I am a sucker for all things "banner", so my title came together easily using some black rubon letters and teeny, tiny buttons to connect each letter. Hope you like it and get some inspiration from our Design Team! Lisa H.
Live in the Moment!
This line also by Fancy Pants seemed to scream to me for some great pictures I have of my teenage daughter--the papers are just grown-up and funky enough for her to love!! Lots of flowers {some homemade, some bought at the store} add to the fun vibe of the page. Bling flourishes add a bit of sparkle also. Hope you enjoy our Design Team creations! Hope to see you soon at the store, Lisa H.
Ocean City!!
This new line from Fancy Pants for the chicks in our lives was so uber-cute, I just couldn't resist doing another layout for Design Team this month!! The decorative papers were adorable and I love how they added such fun pops of pink, green and blue! The surfboards were hand-cut from the border strip page, as was the banner used for the title--couldn't be easier! Come check out all the great products we have in the store. Enjoy the spring weather--Lisa H>
Our Summer Vacation!!
The new beach line for boys from Fancy Pants was too cute for words!! I am such a fan of their papers, especially the border strips page (which was used in several places on this layout). The adorable little kraft pockets on the right hand page are from Maya Road and have a tiny journaling card that lifts out of them! A little jute completes this creation! See you at the store soon, I hope! Dreaming of summer......Lisa H.
