Christmas Wreath Cards Class

Join me on Sunday November 7th from 1 - 3:30 pm for an all new card class! We will be using the gorgeous Hero Arts wreath stamp for all our cards. We will be making 8 cards total, 2 cards of each of the 4 designs. Some cards may get you a little inky, so don't come in your Sunday best :) I forgot to bring my camera with me so I have no photos to show you but Tracy assured me that she would photograph them and post them here on the blog (and we all know that Tracy's photos will turn out WAY better than mine). The cards are at the store if you want to see them IRL.  Fee $23

Also remember to check out our Demo Day shelf when you visit the store. We have lots of fabulous Christmas cards coming your way for November's Demo Day which is 1 week EARLIER than usual. Demo Day will be on Saturday, November 13th from 11 - 4pm. Once again, I neglected to snap a photo of my card, but I am sure that Tracy will be sending out sneak peeks of all our Demo Day projects soon.

I look forward to seeing you on the 7th in the Christmas Wreath class!

Ice Skating Bunny

Check out this adorable ice skating bunny from The Cat's Pajamas! I do not do cute a lot, but I cannot resist their bunnies. I had a lot of fun coloring this guy and I used our design team paper, We R Memory Keepers "White Christmas", for the background. A little ribbon and a little Stickles (Frosted Lace on his hat) helped to complete the card.

We R Memory Keepers White Christmas

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at Photo Scraps with all of the new holiday items filling the store!! We R Memory Keepers White Christmas line is full of that good ole holiday spirit.

For my Design Team layout I began with two of the specialty papers - the scalloped-edge and the sewn paper with the beautiful stitched snowflakes. The colors went perfectly with my step-mom's Christmas sweater that she wore to her family holiday brunch last year. To frame her picture I, once again, reached for my fave Technique Tuesday chipboard frames covering it with red ink and accenting with Petaloo's Dazzlers flowers. American Craft's Jewelry Box alphas made part of my title. The 4x6 Paper Pad provided my journaling boxes (Don't you just love the Naughty or Nice List?) For the hidden journaling behind my photos I used a chipboard corner accent in a new way. By turning it and using at the top of my journaling it serves as a decorative accent and a stopper so my journaling doesn't fall behind the photos!

For page two I ran my photos on a diagonal to make the photos pop and not hide those fabulous stitched snowflakes! I used hand-cut strips of paper for borders. Just love the photos of my children and their cousins!!

Christmas Cards on Halloween

SOLD OUT

Here are 4 of the 5 cards we will be making in my Christmas Cards class on Sunday 10/31. Ironic isn't it...Christmas on Halloween. Class will start at 1 pm.

I have fallen in love the with papers from The Girls Paperie. Very vintage Christmas stuff. Fabulous!
By the time class rolls around, I will probably have tinkered a little bit with the angel card, maybe adding another layer to it, so don't be surprised if it looks slightly different from what I am posting here.

And don't forget that tomorrow is Demo Day. Come on out and play with us!

The Demo Day card

Hi everyone! I cannot believe how fast the month is going. I just had it pointed out to me the other day that Demo Day was only a little over a week away, and I hadn't even designed my card yet. Yikes! So yesterday I went to work and came up with a card using a layout I previously used for a Design Team card.
This month, while everyone else is doing Halloween, I will be the rebel. My card has pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month and uses a couple of new products...Labels 17 from Spellbinders and an adorable Itty Bitty stamp from Unity. Both the owls and the saying come together and the little Unity set is less than $6! Add some google eyes (I had to do it!), a little bling, and a little ribbon, plus some fab wood grain paper, and you have a sweet little card.
Come join us on 10/16 from 11 - 4pm to make this and the other wonderful Demo Day creations!

Cindy
PS - see my naughty kitten? She decided she needed to help me photograph the card and prep for class tomorrow.

New Month! New Design Team

Hi Artista's:
Lisa Hetrick here. I hope you're enjoying this fantastic day!
Just a little creative share today showcasing the new Winter Wonderland products from WR Memory Keepers. Um.... LOVE IT! Bought the whole paper pack. Really simple, clean designs with a slight 50's flair. Lot's of embellishments and flocky like papers in this line, too. And SUPER cute little stamps.

Here's my little mini album I whipped up. I cut the cover shapes on the eCraft using the Fundamentals 1 SD card. You are going to be hearing a lot about this machine from me in the days to come. Can you say digital die cutting machine that uses NO MATS! ACK!

I used some new HERO Arts Holiday stamps in here, too. See the snowflake. AND, the new Martha Stewart BIG HONKIN' snowflake punch. LOVE IT. See the little stamped Santa on a label. He's part of the new Winter Wonderland line and the label.... um.... I cut it on the eCRAFT.
:)

Enjoy.

The Silent Auction and Fall Cards class, etc.

Our silent auction starts this weekend and there are many fabulous creations to bid on. I am donating lots of card sets, come Christmas, some all-occasion, a set of the Poppy cards and a set of the Hydrangea cards too. Remember that all the proceeds go to a great cause.

There are also spots available in my Fall Cards class this Saturday 10/9. We will be making 5 cards, one of them with a handmade background that you will create yourself. Come join me and get a little jump on your Autumn cards.

For the near future, I will be teaching at least 1 holiday card class a month until Christmas rolls around. The first class will be on 10/31 (ironic...Christmas on Halloween!). The samples are in the works, so keep watching the blog for those. In November, we will do a Christmas card class where each card uses the wonderful Hero Arts wreath stamp (CL474 is the clear version, CG215 is the cling version), and in December...well who knows...but it will be holiday related.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Silent Auction for the Cure

This weekend PhotoScraps will be hosting a Silent Auction for the Cure. Please consider helping to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer. It's all about Women helping Women!

I donated this painting I created for the auction. It is inspired by the "SHE" book by Kobi Yamada (a must read for all women) and dedicated to all the women who have touched my life and have suffered from Breast Cancer. I will never forget you. I know you will be able to see a little bit of YOU in the woman I painted. SHE is in all of us. We are beautiful, we are strong, we turn our can'ts into cans, and our DREAMS into PLANS!

Come out to PhotoScraps this weekend and BID ON THIS PAINTING and SO MANY OTHER AMAZING CREATIONS by women all over Maryland.

Go HERE for more details.

The painting was illustrated and painted at 10 x 10, sewn to dense felt for texture and dimension and framed in a black 12 x 12 frame.

Christmas in October

A new month means new a new Design Team paper line and all new projects for you. Our focus for October is "White Christmas" by We R Memory Keepers. This is a great line with classic Christmas colors and a fair amount of embossed papers to choose from. The patterns are sweet and simple and can pair with lots of other elements to make some wonderful Christmas cards, pages, albums, and gifts.

I've whipped up a very quick card as my first project using 2 of the papers from the line. The snowflake paper is one of the embossed papers - love it - and the polka dots have those classic Christmas colors I mentioned. I paired it with some 7/8 inch ribbon, one of my fav border punches from EK Success, a favorite Christmas stamp and a piece of bling.

Stay tuned for more Christmas projects from the Photo Scraps Design Team!
