Christmas Show

Hi All,

Every year our Day Care, All About Kids, puts on a Christmas show that all the children participate in. It is so cute to see all the little ones singing. Bridget was a little ham this year and just loved being on stage. Brian played Father Christmas and had lots of lines. Luckily he was able to read his lines. The kids passed around a microphone and Brian was keeping track of everyone's turn. He wasn't the least bit nervous. I'll be having more of this layout to sell as soon as the base paper comes in.

Christmas at Busch Gardens

Hi Everyone,

The good thing about 20 inches of snow is that I had time to scrapbook. Yeah me. We spent a week in Williamsburg at Thanksgiving this year. We ventured to Busch Gardens on Friday night to see their Christmas light display. Boy, was it cold. We were all frozen and they were out of cocoa. Luckily, the lights were beautiful and distracted us for a while from how cold we were.

We are open today Sunday December 20 12-5 PM

Hi Everyone,
Getting off my road was a bit difficult, but I made it. There is a good 6 inches on my street but once I made it to Oaklahoma I was good. The parking lot is clear even though the driveway in is covered in a layer of snow.

I left out the Hero Arts cards for Make and Takes for anyone who would like to make a card.

Brrrr.... Baby it's Cold Outside

Lisa Hetrick here. Hope everyone is staying WARM. There is lots to do and LOTS of goodness at the store right now, so if you haven't been in, RUN, don't walk.

Now, on to some CHILLY inspiration. This month, the design team has a snowy blast putting together projects using the new frosty Bo Bunny line. I LOVE the mix of blues and purples and the GLITTER papers .... YUMMO!

Great papers and embellishments for your snowy pages, winter cards and projects. Here's what I came up with. The first project uses a piece of circle mdf board (Kaiser) and then I took a fitting off a clipboard and attached it to the circle, making a circle clipboard. After covering it with patterned paper and using the super duper LARGE Bo Bunny clear snowflake stamp, I made a hanging scrapbook. LOVE doing this kind of project. I love getting my pictures out of their scrapbooks and on to the WALLS.

And for all the card creatives, like me.... Here are some card designs sure to inspire. Quick, easy and make use of that YUMMO glitter papers. All the bling... done for you. How cool is that!

Stay warm. Don't forget Hero Arts preview day is tomorrow (Friday the 18th) and Demo Day is this Saturday (the 19th). LOTS of creative inspiration, sales and happy, happy things happening.
Lisa :)

Holiday greetings from Gina A!

Hello scrappers!
I hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season. If you are feeling stressed, remember to pull out your scrap supplies for a little respite from the "to do's"! It always seems like we can't take time to scrapbook during this busy time of year, but this is when I feel the creative process helps the most. Just taking an hour or two to "play" is a real de-stresser for me - to steal an old slogan: "try it - you'll like it!"

My de-stresser this week was working on my design team layout. I just love the Bo-Bunny serenade line. These papers are GORGEOUS! I found they really paired well with the Bo-Bunny dots so I used the Concord Dot as my background and accented with the beautiful serenade papers and embellishments to scrap these photos of my daughter's college performance of the "Vagina Monologues". And, surprise! surprise! my leftover Basic Grey Eerie alphas from an earlier design team layout matched and provided a great title for this page!

Have a safe and happy holiday season ... hope to see you at the all-day crop on New Year's Day if not before!
Happy scrapping from Gina A.!

2 more cards

Squeezed in a little time to play last night and came up with 2 more holiday cards using Snowy Serenade. I love how the papers don't have to be winter or holiday. Many of them can be used for any occasion.

The blue card has a stamp by Inkadinkado and it was stamped in Ranger Adirodack's Eggplant. The deckle layer was cut using a Nestabilitie and then I added some Dew Drops and of course ribbon.

The cream card has no stamping at all (oh the horror!). For this one I used Labels 9 Nestabilities to get my 2 layers and a snowflake die from Sizzix to get the layered snowflakes. Add a corner rounder, some ribbon, and a pearl and it was finished in about 10 minutes.

Snowy Serenade

Bo Bunny does it again, another beautiful line of paper. Normally this would be a line of paper that I would typically hoard in my stash, but since Tracy picked this line as our monthly design team product, I had to use it! Do not be afraid to cut your pretty, glittered paper, or wait for the "right" photos to use for your layout. This paper makes even my so so pictures look good. It dresses them up and having a themed layout brings these average pictures together with a finished look. Another reason I would have hoarded this product is the amount of patterned paper. I usually don't go over three patterns to my layouts, but when I saw this in a magazine I had to scrap lift it! Don't be afraid to get help for a layout or product, most companies have ideas on there websites for you to lift ( like ours!) so help yourself! I am like every other scrapbooker, when I see a product used I have to have it, so take these ideas and make them your own! Ask me if you need help "lifting" any of our ideas in the store, see you soon, Gina P.

Baby its cold outside!

Mmmmm its cold out!! I love to look at the snow but I can't say I enjoy going out in it. Anyways... I whipped up this layout with photos from last year at Ski Liberty. Everyone went tubing but me... I just watched and drank coffee.

I used the new Bo Bunny papers.... they are a MUST have! I hand cut the snowman from a pattern I have. I also used the Bo Bunny cardstock sticker pack. I added a tag with journaling on it... its hidden because I do not like my hand writing. But since I dont scrap much for myself, I would forget when and where if I didnt.
I hope you enjoy it!
Ps... I will have them in the store sometime this week!

A few cards

A little bit of the Polar White flower soft used here. This stuff is so easy to use... if you haven't bought any yet it is a Must! I really love the white. The Merry Christmas stamp was a dollar stamp and I wanna say the tree was Memory box but don't quote me on it! :) (I would know but I'm in bed right now) I'll check on that in the morning.

Another card.. pretty simple too. The ornaments were hand cut and glued on acetate. I used a bit of thin wire to make it look like they have hooks.

Gift card holder

Some of you peeked at this one last Demo Days. I thought I'd add it in here since it was made with the same papers. Its a cute way to give a gift card this year and is very easy to make.
I used my Cuttlebug and I believe one of the labels from Spellbinders. The stamp was a dollar stamp sold at photo scraps a while back.

Snow days=July 4th layouts?!?!

So, who else loved the snow we had this weekend?? Our family sure did! All the snow inspired me to scrap....what else but 4th of July pictures!? Too funny! I used both Reminisce and Best Creations lines and am so happy how the layouts turned out. I have always love patriotic colors and our annual trip to see the BSO at Oregon Ridge provided great pictures and even better memories. As I written lately, I am consumed with trying different ways to use many decorative papers on the same layout. I am too bored with just cardstock, so I like to mix and match 2-3 papers together. I love the final result and hope you enjoy these layouts also. See you at the store soon. Lisa H.

Cuttlebug Technique Class Preview

These cards are not in the store yet (but will be on Saturday). Here is a little preview of the class I will be teaching on December 12th. While we will be making 4 cards, this focus of this class is techniques you can do with your Cuttlebug. Come join me and learn how to do 2 different methods of double embossing, a twist on crayon resist, and a super easy but beautiful ink technique. This class is going to be messy but loads of fun! If you have your own 'bug, bring it along with you. If you don't own one, rest assured that I'm always happy to share :)

Joy and Peace

I had a little time today to whip up a few more cards using Snowy Serenade.

The "joy" card uses 2 papers in the line plus an old Wordsworth stamp and a flower that I colored with my Copics. The "joy" stamp was inked in Adirondack Eggplant ink then I Stickled over it with Crystal Stickles so it would match the sparkly paper.

I wanted the "peace" card to have an antique feel so I did a lot of inking of the edges in Rich Cocoa Memento ink. This card uses different sections of the same paper plus a die cut snowflake and a gold Dew Drop.

Another layout from Lisa

Fall in Maryland...don't you just love it?? These pictures were waiting to be scrapped since last October and I just LOVE how the layout turned out. The colors are so vibrant in the photos and the papers (I used several Karen Foster papers and a really awesome dimensional title from Karen Foster also). Of course I am biased, but aren't those hounds (Myrtle and Daisy) adorable?? Oh, and my kids are pretty cute also!! hee hee. Yes, I am one of those crazy dog-people...sorry!!
I am working on a couple July 4th layouts now...I will post when I am through with them. Hope to see you at the store soon. Off to veg in front of the TV......Lisa H.

It's December...already!!

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a marvelous Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends. I know I did. I had some time during the Turkey week to scrap a bit and did several layouts. I am quite happy with how they turned out. This layout uses a summer line from Kaiser that I found awesome--I loved all the shades of blue in the papers and found that they worked great for some pictures of a family get-together this summer in Ohio. Hope you like it. Lisa H.

Let It Snow!

Happy December, everyone! With the first frost today (in Howard County at least) it finally felt to me like winter might be coming. It is hard to think of it being 60 degrees in December. December to me means cold temps, biting winds and snow. What a perfect theme for this month then to be Bo Bunny's Snowy Serenade paper. As Sandy showed off in a previous post, Snowy Serenade is gorgeous and glittery, and is in shades of purples, blues and mauves. Being that purple is my favorite color, I am so excited to be creating with this line.

My first creation, while not in purple, is of snow, which I also love. I used a die cut snowflake and an old My Sentiments Exactly stamp to create this card along with the Snowy Serenade paper.
Keep visiting the our DT blog to see more creations, and definitely visit the store to see them in person!

December's New Design Team Challenge

Hi Everyone!

What Photoscraps has a new employee? Yes! My name is Sandy Biddinger and I am the newest employee at Photoscraps. You probably will not see me out front at the counter. I have been hired to update the store's blog and create custom diecuts using the pazzle. I am often found in the computer room in the back using my creative talents to design new and exciting diecuts. Please do not hesitate to make a request. It may just show up on the racks. We will also take your specific custom orders for titles and shapes. (Please allow 1 week for delivery) Just see the person at the front counter to fill out your request.

Capture the magic of your frosty winter days. Layer your favorite photos on the soft winter palette of the Snowy Serenade glitter papers and the beautiful lines of our BoBunny Edgy albums. Add a touch of journaling and create a cherished family album.
