Cute Easter cards

Hi Everyone,

I was walking around the store taking photos today and came across these adorable cards on the Design Team wall. I'm not sure who made them, maybe Jill??? I love how she used the Core'dinations cardstock thru the Cuttlebug and sanded the tops. That cardstock is so much fun to play with.

I did it my way

Hi Everyone,

While I was away scrapping a couple of weeks ago, I made this layout of my girl and her friend Hannah. Last summer the girls had some impromptu photo shoots with my camera while I was at work. I'm not complaining because she never smiles for me anymore. It was nice to see what a good job they did with the pictures.

A new Flower Soft class

Join me on Saturday March 6th as we play with Flower Soft and newly released Impression Obsession stamps! We will be using both types of Flower Soft in this class, the "original" and the new Ultra Fine (love it!). We will also be coloring with Copics and doing some cutting too, so make sure to bring sharp detail scissors. These cards are sure to elicit an "oooh" and "ahhh" and maybe even a "how did you do that" from anyone you give or send them to!

I made it to the store and we are open til 8

Hi Everyone,
I escaped my neighborhood and opened the store (til 8). It's nice to be out. The main roads like Liberty and 32 are down to pavement but the lanes are a bit narrower. Our parking lot looks better than after the last storm. The driveway is good but narrow around the one bend. Please take it slowly since there is no visiblilty around the corner.

We will be open tomorrow.
Cabin Fever Crops
We have rescheduled the No Frills $5 crop to this Friday night from 6 to midnight. On Saturday night, we will be having our Pajama crop. Be comfortable and come crop in your jammies. That way you can roll into bed at 2 AM after a long night of scrapbooking. We give prizes out to everyone in their jammies. We serve dinner, soft drinks and chocolate fondue. $15

Cabin Fever Crop Special -
When you join us this weekend for one of our crops, you will receive 10% off your crop purchases for the evening.Since we are not going to be open on Wednesday, we are moving the 4 Make'N'Take cards demo to Friday. We do all the cutting, you do the stamping and gluing. Each card is just $2. (I haven't finished up the fourth card yet)

Even though the sun is out, we are closed again

Hi Everyone,

Unfortuneately, even though we only live a couple of miles from the store, we can't get there. The neighborhoods around Eldersburg have not been plowed yet. Hopefully, they will come thru later today. If we decide to open later I will send out an email.

I am not sure on an exact date for the class but I'm sure we will keep you posted!
This class you would need a strong glue for! You dont want the album to fall apart would you? I prefer Fabric Tac. You can get that at photo scraps. We are now Closed on Tuesday Feb 9th

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone else feel like we have moved to Alaska? This snow is crazy. So once again, we are now closed and most likely will be closed on Wednesday. If it is still snowing in the morning (which it looks like it will be), we will be closed on Wednesday. I will be updating the calendar soon and will post it on both blogs and in an email.

Thanks for your patience in all this winter confusion.

It's a Spring Thing!

Hi, Lisa Hetrick here...
It's a beautiful snowy day. Um... a lot of snow! I hope everyone is safe, cozy and warm. I wanted to share a little bit of SPRING inspiration with you. Think Spring. I know it's kind of hard to do that when there are mountains of snow outside, but there's nothing stopping you from feeling SPRINGY on the inside!

This month the design team is sharing projects using a super fun line from WR Memory Keepers. Hippity Hoppity is sure to get you in the SPRING mood.

I decided to create a super duper oversized flower pot card using nothing but the patterned papers and some stamps. I sewed this little baby together to make it fun and sturdy. I used two brand new stamps here: Silhouette Ivy and Big and Small Flowers from Hero Arts, and Giggle from Treasure to Me, designed by yours truly for Unity Stamp Co. Also, it wouldn't be a finished product for me without a little bit of Copic coloring. The Big and Small Flowers are perfect for coloring.

The Hippity Hoppity line is fun, bright and BLINGY! lots of glittery papers. Stop in the store and get some. Lots and loads of great embellishments, to go with, too.

You can get all these products and MORE at the store!

Don't forget to check out the class schedule calendar. There is a lot going on in February. Go HERE for the schedule. You can go HERE to see my classes for this month. Join me!

Hero Arts card class

Come join me on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 1 - 3 pm as we make 5 cards with the latest stamps by Hero Arts! We will be making cards with varying occasions (perfect to have on hand or to give as a gift) and one of those cards features a super easy inking technique that gets great results. Can you guess which one that is?

Tracy is kindly going to photograph and post the 5th card for me; I completely forgot to take a picture of it. However, I can tell you that it is a pretty little card with shells and soothing colors.
Hope to see you then!
Cindy

A couple of cards

Here are 2 cards I've made with our Design Team this month, Hippity Hoppity by We R Memory Keepers. What a fun line to play with!

The first card I made has lots of butterflies and bling. I keep telling everyone at the store that I am going to be known as "the butterfly lady". I love butterflies in all shapes, colors, and sizes and can't seem to get enough of them. Luckily, these butterflies were cut with a Spellbinders die, so I can make them any color or pattern that I want. I finished the card off with a sweet sentiment by Hero Arts. I adore their clear stamps. They are super high quality and stamp like rubber and I can see exactly where I am putting my image.

The card with the little bird serves a dual purpose. I am teaching it in a class on Saturday, Feb. 13th and it uses our Design Team paper. How great is that! This card will be amongst my class cards and will be on the DT display once the class is over. Again, I used Hero Arts clear stamps for both the bird and the word, plus some flowers and a Dew Drop (love those little guys!). In order to get my small flower to match my card I pulled out my Copics. Don't forget that Copic markers are wonderful for changing the color of your embellishments to match your projects. You can use them on flowers, ribbon, bling, etc. And because they are alcohol based they are permanent and dry super quick.

There are already some fabulous layouts and awesome cards on display on our DT shelf. Come check it out!

Hi from Gna A.!

Hello scrappers!
Hope everyone had a chance to scrap this weekend - I took advantage of the snowy day (my birthday!) and scrapped all day. One of my creations was this month's Design Team layout. Loved the line this month but have to admit I didn't have any Easter or Spring themed pics ready for scrapping to inspire me. But as soon as I saw the cute chipboard stickes with the "chick" tag I had my inspiration! For over ten years now I've met once a month with a group of friends to play cards. Ironically, at our January meeting I insisted everyone cram into a group shot and I had just developed that photo. Since we lovingly refer to ourselves as the "Canasta CHICKS" I suddenly knew just what to use these beautiful papers and embellishments for. A great reminder to myself to think outside the box -papers from a theme can always be used in different, creative ways! This layout went together really quickly using several of the papers including the round one (great for jouraling since it has lines in the design) and embellishing with the flower die-cut (and of course, the chick tag!) Then I added some more flowers (check out the Creative Cafe corner for great silk, paper and chipboard flowers) and made my title using leftover alpha stickers and ... "hippity - hop",it was done! Hope you enjoy it... remember, if the bunny and chick papers are out, spring can't be too far behind! Hop on over to the store soon and check out this line and all the other great stuff Tracy has in stock. You never know what goodies you'll find and how you'll use them! Have fun!
