Gift Frames from Tina

Hi all,

Tina checking in with a project I threw together for my daughter, Kathryn. For those of you who know me, you know this was a big year as my "baby" is off to college. As we were winding down with her unpacking at Indiana University of Pennsylvania  Saturday night, she mentions that she feels that she should have something to give to her suite mates. Oh and that two of the girls made things for all of them! So, I came home and made these frames with Kathryn's input from afar. Texting pictures, for approval. Kathryn loves the frames and is happy so I am happy! The frames go out overnight mail tomorrow - dorm mates arrive Friday!

I painted wooden frames with acrylic paint, two- three coats. For the beach theme I also used the sand in a jar that we sell at the store. I have had it for awhile, and it was still great to use! I used 3-D embellishments to finish, with a small piece of burlap ribbon behind the shell. The hot pink frames are embellished with large satin flowers, Thickers 3D letters, fancy pearl bling (we sell it) and on one my signature pleated ribbon technique! So for all of you out there with someone in college or setting up an apartment this is a great inexpensive way to decorate. I am also using card stock on some frames for Kathryn. When they are done I will post them. Happy crafting!
