"Be Mine" from Gina A

Happy New Year everyone!

I started the new year with a bad case of bronchitis - not something I recommend! - but while I was at home recovering I took an hour to put together this month's project. And, yes!, this two page layout literally took ONE HOUR from conception to completion, including picking papers and photos! Of course, whenever you use several papers from one particular line, the hard part of matching is already done for you. In this case I used the Echo Park "Be Mine" line. The background papers for both pages is "Rose Bouquet". I accented the pages with the back side of the "Journal Cards" paper(black writing). Finally, I used a couple blocks from the "French Chronicle" paper for my journaling spots. After matting the photos and the journal blocks, I adhered everything and then embellished it all with KI Memories "Scribbles" (Happy Words, Black). And just so you know, more detailed journaling will be hidden on another layout from this occasion.... you know I can't end an entry without mentioning the importance of journaling!!!

I'm happy to report that after 7 days on meds I'm no longer contagious so looking forward to seeing all of you at the store and/or in class soon :-)

Happy Scrapping!

My new Demo Day card

A change of plans...in case you read my previous post, I have redesigned my card for Demo Day. At my table, we will still be using Echo Park's "Be Mine" paper and a gorgeous Stampendous stamp to create the card and you will also be learning how to make a "joy fold" card. This is a fab and easy card folding technique that you can take away and put into effect on the cards you make at home.

Looking forward to seeing you this Saturday for Demo Day!

Echo Park is making me feel all LOVEY inside!

Hello Creative Peeps! Lisa Hetrick here... and I've got some LOVEY DOVEY goodness to share with you today. This months design team is all centered around LOVEY's. So, I could NOT help myself by snatching up the entire paper pack of Echo Park's New BE MINE line.

Well, it all started like this... I had this BOX that was hanging around and I just couldn't throw it out. It was TOO good of a box. So... I decided to break it down, cut it up and make use of it as the base for my mini album... How's that for recycling?

So, with and empty canvas in hand (box parts), I started to pull together the new Echo Park paper and bits and baubles and whip up a lovey dovey album. Here's the cover below.

Here's a shot of the pinwheel flower detail. There's a wee little bit of the NEW Bo Bunny CRUSH line of papers in there. Some NEW Unity Stamps designed to go with the ECHO PARK Be Mine line, A cute little Maya Road rose button AND New HERO arts (my new FAVORITE flower stamp, called Flower CORSAGE)

Here's what the cover page looks like after you flip the pinwheel flower page. Yep, that's a pic of my and the hubs, circa 1998 the day we got married. I'm going to fill this book up with some pics of JUST US, through the years. And...hide a little journaling in a pocket called "The Story of Us." A little something I wrote about us awhile back. Awwwww! :) One thing I noticed about this pic...we look well rested. HA! Not so much anymore...

Here's a shot of the book and the pages inside. Bits, baubles, journal cards, some chipboard, a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

If you want to see the whole thing, LIVE and in person... You have to get to PhotoScraps, ASAP! And, as always... all the goodness shown in this book can be found in the store.

Get your Art ON!
Lisa ;)

Today's cards

I am so loving the "Be Mine" line from Echo Park! I can't stop playing with it and am trying to figure out if I can work it into my Demo Day project for January. I love everything about it...the colors, the boldness of the designs, the French artsy vibe. If you don't have any of this paper yet, get in and grab some before it goes.

I had a chance to make 2 cards today. Both of them are very easy and one has no stamping at all, just a few pieces of the matching cardstock stickers. The "Happy Everything" card uses 3 papers from Be Mine, a new Hero Arts stamp, and ribbon and pearls of course. The Paris card uses paper with a fabulous hot air balloon image on it and I felt like it didn't need anything stamped, just the cardstock stickers along with some ribbon and bling.

I hope my creative streak keeps on coming. These beautiful papers are double sided and are just screaming to be played with!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope all of you had a safe and wonderful start to 2011.

For January, the focus of the Photo Scraps Design Team is to bring you creations with a Valentine's and love theme. We will be using a couple of different lines this month, including Doodlebug, Little Yellow Bicycle, and Echo Park. I am in love with the Echo Park line and have chosen that for myself to work with. I must say that Echo Park is quickly becoming one of my favorite paper lines. I have found myself drawn to their papers every time we get something new in from them. It's always wonderful to fall in love with something new!

My first card for the month (and also my first card for 2011!) is my take on the card on the front of Paper Crafts "Color Inspiration" magazine which is currently available in the store. I used my favorite EK border punch, a new Hero Arts sentiment with white embossing powder by Stampendous (my favorite white EP), pearls, ribbon, and some Prima flowers I have been hoarding. I tested out EK's anti-static/powder applicator to do my heat embossing and I must say, I really like the applicator. Much less messier than anti-static bags and it is refillable too - can't beat that!

Keep watching the blog and don't forget to look at the Design Team wall when you are in the store to see our creations up close and personal!
